“Cape May Harbor’s First Responders” featuring Lt. Michelle Foster
When boaters get into trouble, a cry for help usually goes out to the Coast Guard. If they’re in local waters, it will probably be a vessel from Station Cape May that is first responder. The Commanding Officer of Station Cape May (sometimes referred to as a “small boat station”), Lieutenant Michelle Foster will be the guest speaker at the Nature Center’s next Harborside Chat on September 29th beginning at 6:00. Come out and learn about the varied and complex mission of Station Cape May, the “tip of the spear” for the U.S. Coast Guard. We hope you’ll join us and welcome Lt. Foster to Cape May.
The Nature Center’s very popular Harborside Chats are held on Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:00 in the Charlotte Todd Education Hall which is situated at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Brooklyn on the Nature Center campus. The Harborside Chats are FREE to attend; light refreshments will be served.
Looking ahead to next week, Ms. Corry Prestige will join us on October 6th. Corry is a retired naval aviator and a member of the “99’s.” Founded by Amelia Earhart in the “30’s” the “99’s” were and continue to be a group of prominent female aviators who have paved the way for women in aviation. Corry is also married to Captain Gregory “Todd” Prestige, the Base Commander of TRACEN Cape May.
Remember, all presentations begin at 6:00 and light refreshments will be served. There is no cost to attend, but your generous donations to help with ongoing renovations at the Center.
